Originally a transparent green rod, this is an experimental silver-rich colour that is exceptionally easy to develop in the flame.
Work the glass in either a neutral or oxidizing flame, then finish with a light reduction flame to create a beautiful layer of blue silver fume across the surface. The vivid green base and cool blue fume combine to produce striking depth and vibrant colour contrast.
Techniques such as stretching, twisting, feathering, and surface manipulation naturally enhance the silver fume, creating flowing patterns and dynamic textures. This colour develops easily and responds exceptionally well to flame work, making it an excellent choice for artists who enjoy experimenting with layered surface effects.
The octopus shown in the photo features a clear glass base layered with this colour and is finished with RB104 dots for added depth and detail.
