Originally an opaque soft red rod, this is an experimental colour that reveals its full beauty through proper flame work.
Work the glass thoroughly in a hot neutral flame until it is completely melted through. Once your piece is finished, a light reduction flame will enhance the surface, developing a rich raspberry-purple tone with a beautiful opalescent glow.
The finished colour combines vibrant magenta and violet hues with a soft, shifting opalescence that changes beautifully under different lighting conditions. The result is a colour with exceptional depth, movement, and visual character.
The octopus shown in the photo features a clear glass base layered with this colour and is finished with RB104 dots for added depth and detail
