Originally an opaque light blue rod, this opalescent blue transforms into a rich, vibrant transparent blue when fully worked in a hot flame.
Designed for versatility, it performs beautifully across a wide range of lampworking techniques, making it suitable for everything from sculptural work and marbles to pendants and functional pieces. The finished colour is deep, clean, and highly saturated, with excellent clarity and consistency.
While this glass belongs to our opalescent series, the rich blue body colour naturally takes center stage, making the opalescent character more subtle than in lighter shades. The result is a bold, dependable blue with outstanding working characteristics and exceptional visual depth.
The octopus shown in the photo features a clear glass base layered with this colour and is finished with RB104 dots for added depth and detail.
