Originally a transparent green rod, this is a silver-rich striking colour that develops its full character through careful flame work.
Work the glass in a neutral flame, where a delicate layer of silver fume naturally forms on the surface. Techniques such as stretching, twisting, and surface manipulation beautifully enhance the fume, creating flowing patterns with exceptional depth and movement.
The colour becomes even richer in thicker sections, revealing greater complexity and layered tones. Once your piece is complete, finish with a light reduction flame to bring out the full beauty of the colour, enhancing its iridescent highlights and opalescent character.
The octopus shown in the photo features a clear glass base layered with this colour and is finished with RB104 dots for added depth and detail.
