Description
Raw Boro – Niagara Peach 149V1. Price shown is per pound and sold in 1/4-lb increments.
Originally a clear, colourless rod, this is an opalescent, striking colour that offers an exceptionally wide range of colour development.
Work the glass in a neutral flame until it is fully melted through. Thicker sections naturally retain more heat, allowing the glass to self-strike into soft pink and red tones without additional flame treatment. Under different lighting conditions, subtle colour shifts and opalescent highlights add depth and dimension to the finished piece.
For a richer appearance, apply a gentle tip reduction in the cooler outer edge of the flame. The colour gradually develops into a more saturated, opaque finish with beautiful layered tones. Because this colour is highly responsive, you can stop reducing whenever you achieve your desired effect.
Excessive reduction or prolonged kiln soaking may continue to deepen the colour, resulting in a darker final appearance.
The octopus shown in the photo features a clear glass base layered with this colour and is finished with RB104 dots for added depth and detail.
