Originally a warm-toned ghost white rod, this experimental colour combines the soft elegance of ghost white with enhanced striking performance.
When fully worked in a hot neutral flame, it develops a clean, luminous appearance similar to classic ghost white while displaying subtle opalescent colour shifts under changing light. The glass also exhibits a gentle self-striking effect, adding extra depth without additional flame work.
For richer colour development, slowly apply a gentle reduction in the cooler outer edge of the flame. Warm raspberry-red tones gradually emerge, allowing you to build the colour to your preferred intensity.
Compared to the original recipe, this formula develops red more quickly and with less reduction, making it easier to achieve consistent results while reducing working time. Its forgiving flame response also makes it an excellent choice for artists who are new to striking colours.
The octopus shown in the photo features a clear glass base layered with this colour and is finished with RB104 dots for added depth and detail.
