RBX141v2 is an experimental borosilicate colour designed to deliver a dramatic transformation through controlled reheating. The original rod is opaque red, but after being fully melted in a hot flame, the finished piece cools to a rich reddish-purple.

A brief reheat just until the glass begins to glow will encourage the colour to return to a brilliant red as it cools. If the colour is only partially developed, the glass displays a stunning combination of deep crimson, violet, and blue opalescent highlights, creating exceptional depth and a captivating optical shift.

Highly responsive and easy to control, RBX141v2 offers artists a wide range of expressive colour possibilities, making it an excellent choice for both sculptural and decorative lampworking.

Working Characteristics

* Originally an opaque red rod
