This is a silver-rich reduction colour designed to develop beautiful surface effects through flame work.
Work the glass in a neutral flame, where a delicate layer of silver fume naturally forms across the surface. Techniques such as stretching, twisting, and surface manipulation create flowing patterns that enhance the depth and movement of the reduction.
During a light reduction flame, the colour gradually deepens, developing rich earthy brown tones with subtle warm red highlights. The result is a dynamic finish with layered iridescence and exceptional visual texture that becomes even more striking as the reduction develops.
The octopus shown in the photo features a clear glass base layered with this colour and is finished with RB104 dots for added depth and detail.
