Originally an opaque blue rod, this is a self-striking magenta-violet colour that transforms beautifully when fully worked in a hot flame.
Heat the glass thoroughly until it is completely melted through. In thicker sections, the colour naturally develops into a rich magenta-violet without additional flame treatment. In thinner areas, a light reduction flame will gradually bring out the vibrant red and purple tones.
The finished colour closely resembles a luxurious gold ruby hue, offering exceptional depth, brilliance, and subtle colour variation. Its striking transformation makes it an excellent choice for pieces with varying thickness, where the natural colour development can truly shine.
Perfect for pendants, marbles, sculptural work, and any design that highlights dimensional colour and self-striking effects.
